Message From Reverend Beth,

I have been serving as Pastor to the good people of Leslie UCC  for 7 years now.  I was not seeking a new congregation when I first came to preach here-they were between pastors  but as I look back it really was love at first sight.  In them I saw a congregation trying to live their beliefs  daily and to create a safe place for people of all ages to seek God and practice their faith.  I recognized their respect, awe and love of children and inclusivity.  As I look back, they had me at hello.

In these four years we have grown in numbers and grown in depth.  We are continually listening and searching to be guided by the spirit and the needs around us to develop into a church that is serving both God and the community where we are planted.

David and I, and our darling dog Shanti, moved to the parsonage two years ago and have settled into the Leslie community.  We had lived in Haslett for the last 19 years where we raised our children,  Ben (34) Ashley (32) and Kelsey (29).  David is a physician-his practice is in Old Town Lansing.  We began our relationship in high school and continue to  be amazed and the many ways we have been blessed to live our love  and lives together over the years.

My call at the church is “part-time” so I spend some of my week counseling.  I also have a Master degree in Marriage and Family Counseling  from MSU.  I practice out of David’s office in Old Town.  I see clients seeking to resolve life transformation issues and also work with David as a lifestyle educator.  I am a certified Daring Greatly facilitator and work with individuals and groups in this wonderful life affirming work.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, wine tasting, playing the piano, gardening, tap dancing and planning parties and cooking!  We are new grandparents this year, and loving this new chapter of life.
